Head of IT & e-Commerce

Job Enrichment within 2009 as Head of Logistics to strengthen leadership skills. Restructuring allowed in 2010 to take up further activities as project manager and sales assistant in the SME customer segment. Among other things, the development and management of the support center based on Kayako e-Support and the Magento online store for B2B and B2C customers, which became the strongest sales channel in 2011.

Head of IT Department

Set-up and management of the IT department with 3 employees in Biel and the highly available, virtualized server platform for customer services with external partners. Installation and support of the high security infrastructure in the production in Colombo, Sri Lanka.

Project Manager

Starting as a vacation job during my studies, evaluation, planning, installing and maintaining of solar plants (water + electricity) in the Geneva/Lausanne area from single-family houses to large-scale plants (1 megawatt for SIG). Purchasing negotiations with international suppliers (Germany, Austria, China). Exhibition at regional fairs (Geneva, Berne, Vallée du Joux) and consulting of customers.

Freelance Consultant

Starting as a temporary employee in the accounting department of the family business (computer wholesale, IT system house). Insight and participation in different departments (development, logistics, production, sales). Self-employed as IT consultant, IT service provider and first-level supporter for small businesses.

Intermittently connected mobile ad-hoc networks

Mobile wireless network devices are often not within the transmission range of access points. In order to be able to connect to them anyway, other nodes serve as intermediate points that forward the data. Such network topologies are called mobile ad-hoc networks. The constant movement of peers, a limited energy supply and sporadically interrupted connections place high demands on routing algorithms and hardware. In this thesis, both aspects were investigated with respect to their suitability in the field of wireless telemetry: Collecting measurement data from grazing livestock using sensors and transmitting them wirelessly.
