I've worked with contract manufacturers in Switzerland, Italy, Sri Lanka and China from prototyping, pre-series, industrialization towards mass production.
The share of responsibilities varied from case to case, from ODM/E2MS on one extreme to fully controlled manufacturing processes especially for high security applications.
Intercultural skills are best trained when put into real-life practice.
